Caterpillars Can’t See The Butterfly Within

Do caterpillars have dreams or are they so consumed with the need to feed that they ignore what’s buried deep within?

Sometimes my mind ponders the strangest things. I find, in the midst of the pondering, God has hidden a treasure; a lesson or truth He wants me to find. I need to dig a little bit deeper.

Take caterpillars, they come in all shapes and sizes, but all of them have a destiny laying dormant inside. After the feeding and molting cycles are over, the resulting pupae climb out onto a branch and hang down. A substance is secreted from their mouths, which they use to spin themselves into a cocoon. They are unaware of what’s about to happen. Everything is done by instinct and genetics passed down the generations.

Inside the cocoon, the caterpillar begins to change. It’s not a little change either. By the end of the metamorphosis, hidden inside the opaque walls of the cocoon, is finished, a new creation emerges slowly and carefully from within. It’s a battle to get out of those walls that have become too small. The new creature struggles and fights to get free. When it’s almost reached its limit and is so weak from fatigue it could easily fall to the ground. That is the moment its new legs grab onto the branch above and wet, sticky wings dry in the sun and air, unfurling their splendour. The caterpillar has transformed into a beautiful butterfly.

Mankind is a little like the caterpillar. Many of us go through life doing the things expected of us. Parents pressure their children to reach for dreams that may or may not be their own. They want something better than what they attained for their kids and yet, in doing this, many adolescents and young adults end up on paths they don’t want to be on. Some leave to pursue other dreams that have surfaced, but many continue on, burying their other dreams which run contrary to what is expected of them.

What dreams have you buried deep in your heart, thinking it’s too late, or you’re too old, or technology is beyond your understanding?

What if I were to tell you it’s not? All you need is a midwife of sorts. A helping hand to coax out that dream and transform it into reality?

It sounds impossible and yet… nothing is impossible with God. He took a young shepherd boy and made him King of Israel. He took a Hebrew adolescent with prophetic dreams and jealous brothers, betrayed multiple times, left for dead, thrown in prison and then… in God’s timing made him second in command reporting directly to Pharaoh. Joseph was placed in a position of power to save his people during a desperate time of famine. Saul tortured and killed countless Christians and then on a road outside of Damascus, an encounter with Jesus struck him blind. When his sight was restored, he became Paul and wrote many letters that became part of the scriptures in the New Testament section of the Bible.

In each story, we can clearly see God’s timing was the key to His plans and purposes being revealed. Many waited decades before they saw God move in their circumstances and miracles happened. Dreams long dormant and thought lost became reality almost overnight.

How many of you have always dreamed of writing a book? A memoir or a book of poetry? How about a fictional account of your own life story? It’s a daunting thought. It seems so out of reach, and many put it on the back shelf of their thoughts and forget about it.

Some have notes tossed into folders, or journals in boxes and don’t know what to do with them. They are precious and deep down these people know that the words hidden within the pages and sticky notes must be brought out into the light, dusted off, and transformed into a book others can read, even if it’s only their own kids and grandkids.

What if I told you it is possible? What if the Holy Ghost has gifted me with the ability to partner with you to create that amazing manuscript?

That’s exactly what I’m telling you. I am a ghostwriter. The Holy Ghost and I partner with people to see that each book becomes a reality. It’s a journey that I am honoured to take with everyone God sends to me.

On July 2, 2022, I have two spaces open to take on ghostwriting clients. If this blog post has resonated in your spirit and you are interested in learning more, send an email to me at heatherhancock68@outlook.com and I will reply with more information.

Pray about it, and don’t let fear or doubt hold you back. Your dream is still viable and the timing perfect. Ask the Father to show you, and let Holy Spirit’s peace that surpasses all understanding be your guide to taking the next step—it’s only an email away.

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.

  1. Wow. I might take you up on this. I’ve had a couple of ideas for novels or novellas stored up for years. Unfortunately, I am always pressed for time and suffer from a lack of direction. I suppose it also depends on your pricing. I’ll pray about this.
