It’s World Radio Day!

When I hear the word “radio,” I immediately think of images like those in the photo above. I know I am dating myself, but technology has advanced leaps and bounds. What modern day radio consists of now includes: sound studios with microphones, sound screens, sound mixers, computers, etc. Many episodes are split between a video option and a podcast option.

That’s a far cry from turning radio knobs slowly up and down the AM and FM dials, while listening for the white noise “snow” to clear into a voice or musical notes. Neither do we have cassette recorders next to radios taping songs to make the first playlists. That’s what we did as teenagers in the 1980s.

So why a blog post on this auspicious day?

Nothing more than a shameless self-promo of my favourite video appearance so far. The host of Talking Books has a way of drawing a reader into a book without giving everything away. His questions are thoughtful and thought-provoking and his exploration of key chapters is refreshing. Mr. Crowley lives in the UK and the videotaping is done in his studio. Experts And Authors TV is an American broadcast, so this is a compilation of three countries, since I am Canadian.

For those who haven’t read my book, Sister Lost, this interview will give you some insight into what it’s all about. So, without further ado, grab your favourite beverage and/or snack and settle in for about half an hour.
